Reminds me of my sister's old club in Houston called Jerry's Tower....my brother in law would sit at his piano and play all night long with the band in the background while the patrons danced lightly around the dance floor under the skylights that let the moon shine in on some nights...what a beautiful first memory of jazz....

He walked into the jazz club that night. The place was almost empty. It was a small club off the beaten path, and few people in Chicago even knew about it. He walked up to the open microphone. The band kept playing as he took a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket and started reading... there's a black piano in the far corner of the room that nobody plays anymore and a tuxedo cat with fur of ermine black that lays on the piano like an Egyptian sphinx gazing out the large plate glass window over the filthy streets below as an old man stands upon the sidewalk holding a cardboard sign and begging for pocket change the cat watches with apathetic indifference as a young boy attacks the old man and beats him down and the blood lines the gutter and mingles with the blood of the road-killed raccoon Somewhere, far away, Jack Kerouac smiled...

There is something magical, and a bit melancholy, about a big city, all lit up at night, with smooth lounge jazz playing softly in the background... thank you for this upload, for it makes my sorrow complete.

Thank you for creating this channel; it has become my sanctuary from the outside world. It had always been a dream of mine to have a piano trio. But I'm not a good enough pianist, and so my dream was never realized. But an old man can still dream, right?

I wish I could play the piano this beautifully. I do own a 114 year old antique grand piano, and I play it every day (it needs to be tuned right now), but I'm not as good as this pianist.
